Currencies and exchange rates

Choose client and document currencies, and review exchange rates and reporting amounts.

Client and document currency

Set the preferred currency in the client's billing details. It is suggested for new documents, but always check the selection in the form. The currency determines what the prices and total represent.

Document language is a separate setting. An English document does not automatically use USD, and a Bulgarian document does not change the agreed currency.

Check the exchange rate

For a foreign-currency document, review the exchange rate, its date and stated source. The application shows available rates and their update time. When no new quote is available, its date may be a previous business day.

The rate is saved when the document is issued. A later update to current rates should not be treated as a recalculation of an already issued document.

Documents and reports

Check each amount's currency: the original document currency or its reporting equivalent. Do not simply add values in different currencies.

To compare a document with a report, use the rate saved on the document and the same period. When reconciling payment, also check the bank transaction's currency.

Entry and rounding

Enter numbers in the format the field accepts, then check how they are displayed. Compare quantity, unit price, discount, VAT and the final total. The number of displayed decimal places depends on the currency.

Bank account

Choose the appropriate payment account and check its IBAN, currency and visible instructions in the invoice preview. Having several accounts does not mean the application selected the one intended for this document.
